What does a Team Manager Finance do?
We’re seeking a seasoned and motivated Team Manager Finance to lead our finance team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. In addition, you’ll manage your own portfolio of international clients, working closely with colleagues from other departments, including our SSC team in Turkey. Ideally, you’ll have a strong finance/audit background and a proven track record of success in managing a team. You’ll report to the Operations Director.
Your main tasks and responsibilities include:
Managing the team:
- Providing leadership and supervision to your client-facing finance team as supported by our Turkish SSC team, including performance management, coaching, and development
- Cultivating a positive and collaborative team environment that promotes open communication and problem-solving
- Optimising resource allocation to meet current and future capacity demands effectively
- Overseeing the chargeability of the team, ensuring efficient workload distribution and task completion
- Evaluating the development and performance of the team
- Upholding and enhancing the service level and work quality of the team in line with the Company’s policies and procedures
- Introducing, coaching and training newly recruited team members
Accounting:
- Managing the daily client accounting responsibilities, overseeing the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, financial statements, budgets and (cash-flow) forecasts
- Ensuring timely and efficient collection of outstanding payments, maintaining positive client relationships while effectively managing cash flow and minimising delinquencies
- Reviewing financial statements and compiling more complex consolidated) financial statements (Dutch GAAP/IFRS)
- Reviewing periodic tax returns
- Maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring adherence to accounting principles and best practices
- Evaluating and further enhancing policies, procedures and work instructions
Audit & Compliance:
- Overseeing, coordinating and providing audit assistance
- Being accountable for maintaining compliance and mitigating risks
Building & Maintaining relationships:
- Actively engaging with clients and external partners to understand their needs and expectations
- Fostering open communication, listening attentively, and promptly addressing any concerns
- Seeking opportunities for collaboration, joint problem-solving, and shared success
- Exploring avenues for growth, such as cross-selling services or expanding existing accounts
- Identifying potential clients or business partners who align with our goals and developing and nurturing relationships with them.
Who are we looking for?
We seek people who are proactive, hands-on, digitally literate, flexible and eager to work in a client-focused environment.
To be successful in this position :
- You’re a Certified AA Accountant with over 10 years of senior accounting and management experience, preferably within an accountancy firm or financial services provider
- You have at least five years of team leadership experience
- You have in-depth knowledge of Dutch GAAP, IFRS, and accounting principles;
- You’re proficient with ERP systems;
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
